Odds and Ends

Recent and Current Shows:

A couple of my prints from Odd One Out are in the New England Photography Biennial at the Danforth Museum of Art. The show was juried by George Slade (former curator of the PRC) and runs through November 13th. I'll also be giving an artist's talk at the Danforth on November 2nd at 12:30pm. I'd love to see you there!

I will have work from both Other People's Clothes and Odd One Out in a small show going up at the Simmons School of Social Work. I will be sure to post more info on that as I hear about it on my blog and on Facebook.

Additional places my work has recently been seen: A Decade of Photography in the Aftermath of 9/11 in NYC, Artcetera Auction to Benefit AIDS Action Committee, a solo show at New England School of Photography's stairway gallery, a DeCordova Museum Faculty show at the Center for Art in Natick, and the pop-up group show Chain Letter at Samson Projects.

My Residency at ACRE:

My residency at ACRE was everything I expected and more--- a chance to connect with peers from all over the country and time away to really concentrate on making new work and thinking about where I want my career to go. I'm more inspired than ever to pursue new ways of working and am slowly completing several projects in the the media of sculpture, fiber arts, installation, and collage. Read more about my experience and see some photos on my blog.

I will also have a solo show at the ACRE Projects gallery in Chicago which opens April 8th. I'll be showing all new work and I couldn't be more excited.

Performing:

I have been performing in the local cabaret/burlesque scene since late 2010. Since then I have performed for Axe To Ice Productions, Bitches of Destiny, Rogue Burlesque, and Traniwreck. I was the winner of Rogue Burlesque's July Lucky 13 Amateur Burlesque competition and performed as several political figures (Anthony Weiner and Donald Trump) in the Boston Tease Party's recent political burlesque farce, Beaver, at the Somerville Theatre.

I hesitated about mingling my performance work with my other art work, but they deal with similar concerns and clearly come from the mind of the same artist. In less than two weeks, a show I'm co-producing and performing in will explode all over Oberon. If you are interested in seeing what my performance work looks like, I'd love to have you there.
